چکیده
This study was designed to contribute the understanding of relationships between energy balance (EB) in early lactation [4 21 d milk (DIM)] and fertility traits [interval start luteal activity (SLA), interval first observed heat (FOH), conception artificial insemination (AI)], their associated with cow performance blood metabolites 4 150 DIM. Individual data (488 primiparous 1,020 multiparous lactations) from 27 experiments analyzed. Data on performance, EB (on a metabolizable basis), were available for all cows, whereas progesterone (to determine SLA) periodic metabolite 1,042 1,055 lactations, respectively. cows analyzed separately, sets 2 parity groups divided into quartiles (Q1–Q4) according average during DIM (EB range Q1 Q4: primiparous, −120 −49, −49 −24, −24 −3, −3 92 MJ/d, respectively: multiparous, −191 −79, −79 −48, −48 −22, −22 93 respectively). Differences production compared. In (4 DIM), moving Q4 mean DMI intake increased ECM decreased. During same period, fat content, fat-to-protein ratio, plasma nonesterified fatty acid β-hydroxybutyrate concentrations decreased, protein content glucose both cows. When examined over entire experimental period many trends intakes remained, although magnitude difference much reduced, did not differ The percentage FOH before 42 (from 46 72% 41 58% cows). Interval calving SLA decreased increasing DIM, these occurring 9.8 10.2 earlier, respectively, compared (primiparous cows), 7.4 5.9 (multiparous For each 10 MJ/d decrease delayed by 1.2 0.8 However, neither days AI nor that conceived affected daily either or this is likely reflect return less metabolically stressed status at time AI. These results demonstrate reduced lactation, had no effect service.

were mobilizing their body lipids. Six other cows were used as controls (’C group’). The diet was 60% corn silage and 40% concentrate. Groups 0 and C received 18 and 12% soybean meal, respectively. There was a between-group difference of 4.1 kg milk/d in previous peak lactation yield. Milk yield during wk 3 of experimental lactation was significantly lower in group 0 (27.7 vs 33.8 kg/d, P < 0.0...

the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of different milking frequencies in the first 6 weeks of lactation on milk production and milk constituents, blood metabolic profiles and reproductive performance of fresh dairy cows. the milking frequencies imposed were three times daily milking for 42 days (3x), six times daily milking for the first 21 days of lactation and three times da...

This study investigated the effect of Rumex Sc (commercial product which includes of Saccharomyces cervisiae, saponin and essential oils) on rumen fermentation, blood glucose, urea, milk yield and milk composition. Animals were offered a basal diet containing alfalfa hay (15.5%), corn silage (24%), beet pulp (7%) and concentrate (53.5%). Additionally, Rumex Sc was included in the experimental d...
متن کاملUse of early lactation days open records for genetic evaluation of cow fertility.
National genetic evaluations for cow fertility were introduced by the USDA in February, 2003. These evaluations, reported as daughter pregnancy rate, are based on days open. One requirement of the evaluation system is that lactations be at least 250 d in milk (DIM) to be included for analysis. The objective of this research was to develop a predictor of days open, usable in genetic evaluation, ...
متن کاملAssociations between lipid metabolism and fertility in the dairy cow.
Dairy cows mobilise body tissues to support milk production and, because glucose supplies are limited, lipids are used preferentially for energy production. Lipogenic activity is switched off and lipolytic mechanisms in adipose tissue increase through changes in the expression of several key enzymes. This results in a loss of body condition, together with high circulating concentrations of non-...
